Madam Pauline with Macer Venatorus, Graham and Raymond Muirhead
Welcome to our Clan Hunter International Gathering 2026!
Join us for an unforgettable journey into history at the Clan Hunter International Gathering 2026. Whether you’re reconnecting with fellow Hunters or discovering the rich legacy of our clan for the first time, this special event promises a truly memorable experience.
Our knowledgeable guides – dressed in authentic medieval attire – will bring the story of Hunterston Castle to life. As you explore its ancient halls, you’ll hear tales of historic events and meet the remarkable Lairds who shaped our heritage through the centuries.
The weekend will be filled with exciting activities for all ages. Test your strength with the Haggis Hurl, design your own Viking-inspired helmet, or take aim with the Ancient Society of Kilwinning Archers as they help you hit the bullseye.
We are also delighted to host two distinguished speakers this year:
- Philip Tibbetts, March Pursuivant of Arms at the Court of Lord Lyon and Honorary Vexillologist, will share his expertise on flags and their powerful symbolism.
- Ross McEwen, seanachie to the Chief of Clan McEwen and heraldry expert, will explore the fascinating art and tradition of heraldic symbolism.
On Saturday evening, our Clan Dinner will be held in the West Kilbride Village Hall – an evening of fine food, lively music, and traditional Scottish dancing. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes!
See the booking page for a full menu for the gathering.
Clan Hunter & Clan Muirhead celebrate twenty-five year Link of Friendship
This year is a truly special milestone in our Gathering’s history. Twenty-five years ago, Madam Pauline extended a heartfelt Link of Friendship to Clan Muirhead—a bond that continues to flourish to this day.
Clan Hunter is delighted to welcome Rev. Ret. Chev. Raymond L. Morehead GOTJ, FSA Scot, President Elect and Chief Officer of the Muirhead Clan Society International, together with his fellow clan members, to Hunterston Castle. We are honoured to share our home and our Gathering with them.
Last year, we celebrated this unique friendship with the film Forged Friendships, which paid tribute to the connection between our clans. As we look ahead to July, we are excited to once again reunite with Raymond and the Muirhead Clan, celebrating the enduring friendship that unites us.
